Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike on 4th-6th th July 2008

This year takes place the 14th edition of the Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike, the hardest mountain bike race in the Dolomites of South Tyrol. It will happen from 4th to 6th July 2008. The 14th edition of the Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike race is a very important race for he athletes. This year also the UCI Worldcup will take place on the course of Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike. You see: the race is one of the most important in the whole world.

Description of the Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike courses

The athletes can choose between one course of middle distance (60,5 km) and one course of long distance (119,8 km). On the long distance course will be held the world championships.

Course of Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike: middle distance

The course starts at the main place in Niederdorf direction west and takes the asphalt road north, uphill to "Egger" and the "vista point", where it enters a forest road which leads over light unevenly terrain to the Silvester valley. After a short but technical descent the course goes on to a place called "Silvester place". From there the athletes ride back to the centre of Toblach and to the train station there. There they take the cycle path direction Cortina d'Ampezzo which leads to the final 7 km long climb up to Plätzwiese. The last downhill section is going back to Brüggele and the Pragsertal Valley. The last kilometres over the Lercher farmhouses bring the athletes back to where they started from, Niederdorf.
