It´s been years since sled-horses are being grown up in South Tyrol. The race is the avalignense, dark cloured, small but tough. The right horse to pull a sled.
In the Badia Valley there is an about two hours tour from La Villa to Corvara. In the close Selva di Gardena the sleds take off from the Alpi di Siusi station and from the one at the feet of Mount Pana. Other specialised centres find place at Andalo and Cortina.
