The Dolomites on horseback

The amazing landscape of the Dolomites from horseback-perspective

The manifold landscape of mountains, meadows and woods is a true Eldorado for horse-enthusiasts.

Whether during a ride on a Icelander-horse in the Icelander-stud Weiderhof in Terenten, where in summer 2008 the MEM will take place, or during riding-lessons with the horse-stud-director Claudia Steuer at Tharerhof in Olang. While the parents can relax in the wellness-area of Hotel Tharerwirt, the little ones learn pony-riding and the right handling on and with the horse. It’s a paradise for men and horse!

Did you ever hear that cosmetics can be produced from mare-milk? And that these cosmetics are antibacterial and help against eczema and other skin diseases? Visit the riding-stable Sonnenhof in Gsies, where the farmers are specialized in milking the mares and in producing natural cosmetics. A mare-milk lipstick or soap would be a nice and original souvenir for your friends at home, aren’t they?

The vocalist of the very famous folk-music-band Kastelruther Spatzen, Norbert Rier, has accomplished a real paradise for men and horse at Seiser Alm alpine pasture. Mr. Rier cares about 30 Haflinger brood mare and 4 Haflinger Stallions. A Visit to Mr. Rier’s stable surely pays.

Last but not least we recommend to horse-enthusiasts the Icelander-stud in St. Vigil in Alta Badia. There are honest horses, where already I made my first attempts on a horse. Since then, I can’t any more imagine a life without horses.
